I bought myself a lovely little art set the other day. In it is a paintbrush that you fill with water.
I spent ages trying to unscrew the bit that the water goes in but it just wouldn’t budge.
My daughter then also tried for ages and still couldn’t do it.
Feeling rather defeated, confused, and concerned that I was going to rip the plastic and break the brush, I took a deep breath.
And instead of turning it to left (because everyone knows it’s lefty loosey) I gently turned it to right and it unscrewed with ease.
The message this experience gave to me was “just because you’re ‘doing it right’, it doesn’t mean it’s the right way to do it!”
